Ode on an Empty Bottle<\/p>\n
The boys were there<\/p>\n
Smoke graced the air<\/p>\n
The bottle was not spared.<\/p>\n
It lay on its side<\/p>\n
With its insides all dried,<\/p>\n
Its contents the boy shad derived.<\/p>\n
The nectar was put to use<\/p>\n
Down their pipes twas tenderly sluiced,<\/p>\n
For the boys, they loved their juice.<\/p>\n
As it drained into those guys<\/p>\n
It lit the fires in their eyes<\/p>\n
And with their veins protruding they screamed.<\/p>\n
The philosophy of drink being always wise,<\/p>\n
They prevailed the occasion to arise,<\/p>\n
But now, of sucking down more booze they could only dream.<\/p>\n
Amidst the buzzing of the flies,<\/p>\n
The prone monolith and its allies,<\/p>\n
Were one in the same in spirits or so it seemed.<\/p>\n
The boys assembled in a ring<\/p>\n
They paid homage to that glass thing<\/p>\n
For in the night sweet Jack was king.<\/p>\n
So they reached into their stash<\/p>\n
To augment the sour whiskey mash,<\/p>\n
But to their sorrow there was not even a shot.<\/p>\n
The bottle lying there<\/p>\n
Was empty to their despair<\/p>\n
And love unrequited was their lot.<\/p>\n
